How to get involved

We always welcome parents who would like to either just help out at events or join the committee. Committee members are decided once a year at the annual general meeting and automatically become Trustees of the charity, responsible for its governance. All levels of contribution are helpful to us – it doesn’t matter if you can spare only a little time, perhaps assisting at specific events, every little helps. If you would like to get more involved in organising events, perhaps you would like to join the committee – meetings are held approximately every half term at the school throughout the academic year and childcare is provided if out of school hours. We have an ‘Events’ WhatsApp group where we post messages if we need help with specific events. Please email us (pa@broadfields.net) to let us know your mobile number if you would like to join the WhatsApp group.
If you have any fundraising ideas you would like us to consider – get in touch! Even if you cannot get involved in helping at events, your attendance is crucial to their success; buy things at our sales – cakes, hot dogs, books, used uniform, send your children to film nights and discos, bring your family and friends along to our Christmas Market…we need you there!
We also sell used uniform online – you can help by buying from us or donating uniform your children no longer need to us. We take any items of uniform that are in good clean condition, We cannot sell stained or torn clothing so please donate judiciously.

EASYFUNDRAISING
An easy way of raising funds for the school at no additional cost to you is to register on Easyfundraising. This money goes to the school directly and not to us, but we promote it for them.
Most major (and many minor) online retailers are covered by this scheme including: eBay, John Lewis, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, M&S, Boots, Next, Go Compare– they are all part of Easyfundraising. There are nearly 3000 retailers. Donation amounts vary and generally start at 0.5%, however you can raise £15 just by buying your car insurance on Go Compare!
To register on Easyfundraising involves ONLY 4 simple steps:
- Go to: http://easyfundraising.org.uk
- Click on ‘support a good cause’
- Search for a cause: Type in ‘Broadfields Primary School'
- Register with your name, email address and a password. Then search for the retailer you want and shop away!
Once you are registered you need only go to http://easyfundraising.org.uk, search for your retailer and shop away! Alternatively, you can download a donation reminder from the Easyfundraising website that reminds you when a retailer is registered. Once you have done this you shop as normal through the retailer’s site and a reminder will pop up to let you know that a donation is available.
If you are not able to download the donation reminder be sure to shop by visiting http://easyfundraising.org.uk first and access your chosen retailer from there. That way you won’t miss any donation that is available. Proceeds from Easyfundraising sales are paid directly into the school's bank account.
